Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Synthia, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and paying subscribers.
2. Service description
Synthia is an AI-powered cultural research platform that generates synthetic user personas and research outputs for product teams. All research outputs are AI-generated and should be treated as directional, not as statistically representative data from real users.
3. Account responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Synthia to generate research intended to discriminate against protected groups, to create misleading or deceptive product claims, to reverse-engineer or replicate Synthia's AI models, or to circumvent usage limits through automated means.
5. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of all content you input into Synthia (product descriptions, design files, research questions). Synthia retains ownership of the platform, AI models, and cultural research methodology. Research outputs generated by Synthia are licensed to you for commercial use within your organisation.
6. Subscription and billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.
7. Disclaimers
Synthia is provided "as is". We do not warrant that AI-generated research outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Research outputs should be validated with real user research before major product decisions. We are not liable for product decisions made solely on the basis of Synthia research.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Synthia's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. We will notify you by email of material changes. Continued use of Synthia after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
